MJ is making his mark in affiliate marketing, and I’m not talking
Michael Jordan or the late Michael Jackson (can you imagine?)…
Hot on the heels of the best-selling ‘The Adwords Code’ video
series and ‘The Adwords Manifesto’ e-book, online phenom “Michael Jones” aims his marketing
expertise squarely at ClickBank, the world’s largest source for digital (downloadable) products
with The ClickBank Code.
$48,506.88 Clickbank Comissions in Just One
Month?
In an introductory video, Jones gives us proof of how he managed
to earn over ninety-two thousand dollars as an affiliate marketing newcomer between
February and April of this year.
Yes, 2009 – the year of the Recession…
Michael offers us a five hour video course spread
over six modules (28 segments). I can almost hear you scream:
“Oh no, not another over the top package of tired tricks and
half-truths.”
Five hours of instruction may sound ‘over the top’ for a topic
that has been dealt with in detail by some the giants of Internet Marketing. So what gives
this so-called blueprint the edge over existing ClickBank malls, e-books, and the ClickBank site
itself?
Answer: Attention to detail, as illustrated by The ClickBank
Code’s core themes:
- Select ‘Winning’ ClickBank Products
- Keyword Research
- Setting up your Offer
- Generate traffic
The video series’ meatiest parts are the first two modules, where
Michael’s affiliate product and keyword selection skills really shine through. He walks you
through each phase of the process without sounding aloof or heavy-handed, like someone who is
consciously working through a beginner’s eyes.
The Clickbank
Code's Fatal Flaw
One criticism I have though is the failure to show us an
actual example of one of his successful landing pages. By doing so, he would have
bridged the gap between his excellent Adwords advice (spreadsheet demo) and massive revenue
generating success.
I really would have liked to see a real world example of a full
niche site including blog, articles, landing pages, and content.
I do understand this omission though, as most internet marketers
don't want to reveal their non-IM niches. It doesn't take anything away from the course, just
would have been a nice bonus.
The Best Way
for Newbies to Get Started...
We are told that affiliate marketing is the best way for Internet
newcomers (“newbies’) to get their feet wet with minimal risk. However, all too often, it is
minimal effort that leads to failure.
Sometimes, you really have to spend money to make money and
Michael is not shy about maintaining a robust Adwords budget to make things work. As you will
see in the course, Jones is all about:
- Setting attainable goals.
- Tracking your results.
- Scaling up positive results to achieve your income
goals.
- Making a personal commitment to excellence.
- and much, much MORE…

As I went through the video presentation, a recurring thought kept
entering my mind:
Do I have to
use Pay-per-Click (PPC) to be a successful ClickBank marketer?
I’ve had some success with Google Adwords, but needed a lot of
trial and error before things started to click (no pun intended). Putting myself in the shoes
of a complete novice, I might be uneasy spending up to $500 a day to try things out, even for a
short period.
Then again, I did not have the benefit of a course like The
ClickBank Code to guide me through each critical step. When Michael says to go through the
entire course once, then again while taking notes, then again while setting up your campaigns, do
it. Otherwise, you’re setting yourself up for a spectacular and expensive failure.
It's Not Just About
Adwords...
Based on his obvious Adwords expertise and success, you might be
surprised to learn that Michael Jones’ favorite traffic source for his ClickBank campaigns is
online niche forums. Apparently, there’s nothing like creating a buzz with controversial and
thought-provoking posts. Duplication through forum outsourcing (i.e. getting other people to post
for you) is brilliantly explained in the sixth and final module.
Have no fear, though. If neither PPC nor forums appeal to
you, Jones’ article marketing videos (Module 5) explain yet another traffic generation option for
affiliate marketers, although it is going to take more time than PPC to achieve measurable
results.
Clickbank
Code - Final Verdict
Some criticized ‘The Adwords Code’ in 2008 for not living up to
its hype and failing to justify its steep price tag. Michael probably learned his lesson on
the pricing front (if you don’t believe me, check out the link below), not that serious
entrepreneurs should let price dictate their route to success. Still, it pays to do your due
diligence whenever making a business decision.
Significant bonuses aside, purchasers of The ClickBank Code are
going to be responsible affiliate marketers who are going to be proactive for the long
haul.
Are you one of them?
Target market:
1. Beginners looking for a systematic way to become
top-notch affiliate marketers using ClickBank, and prepared to budget accordingly in the
short term to test their Google Adwords campaigns.
2. Marketers who have experimented with Adwords in the past but
missed out on breakthrough success due to a lack of focus.
3. Part-time marketers who prefer traffic generation methods other
than Adwords, and will devote the extra time needed to implement keyword research, landing page,
list-building and other fundamental online strategies.
